Francesca, James, Jack, Jenny and Ankush are part of a transition service in Surrey which equips young people with the skills they need for independent living from managing money to cooking meals.
Three members of the group are due to take the next step in the journey and are in the process of moving and settling in to a new house where their support will be gradually reduced, the aim being to eventually live independently.
“It’s a nervous but exciting time” says Francesca.
The young people will document their daily lives and give a glimpse of what they have learned at their current service and also, for those moving, how they are feeling about the road ahead.
As well as giving a great insight into the young people’s changing lives with support, it will also provide them with an opportunity to learn social media and digital marketing skills.
You can find out more about their journey to independence on Avenues Facebook and Instagram pages.
