Church Farm Bungalow supports up to 12 people with a learning disability and/or autistic people, people living with dementia, physical disability, and sensory impairment.

CQC carried out an inspection of the premises and care provided in October 2023, looking specifically at ‘Safe’ and ‘Well Led’. They rated Church Farm Bungalow as ‘Good’ in both of these areas. The service has a ‘Good’ rating overall, with a clean sweep across the three other areas too (‘Effective’, ‘Caring’ and ‘Responsive’).

Here are a few of the highlights reported by inspectors:

  • “People received care that supported their needs and aspirations, was focused on their quality of life, and followed best practice.”
  • “People lived safely and free from unwarranted restrictions because the service assessed, monitored and managed risks effectively.”
  • “People told us they got on well with the staff who supported them… ‘[Family member] obviously loves some of the staff there; you can just tell she really likes them.’ Another relative said, ‘All the staff are friendly, cheerful, and good with the residents.’”

Daniel Dzikowski, Regional Director of Avenues South, said: “At Avenues, we have an organisational commitment that our services achieve Good or Outstanding CQC ratings. I am very proud of Emma, the Registered Manager, and the whole staff team at Church Farm Bungalow for consistently promoting and demonstrating high-quality, person-centred care.”
