Cream teas and karaoke: Avenues celebrates 30 years in style
Thursday 22nd of June 2023It was an afternoon of boat rides and barbecues, Karaoke and cream teas as Avenues employees, people supported by the charity, and their families celebrated 30 years of the organisation. Parties took place in each subsidiary from Shropshire to Surrey.
Avenues London enjoyed a ‘Back to the 90’s’ party at Dartford Rugby Club, complete with fake guitars and microphones. Michael who is supported by Avenues London enjoyed playing along to 90s rock classics on his inflatable guitar accompanied by Adam on the inflatable mic.
Employees and people supported by Avenues danced the afternoon away and made the most of the photo booth, set up for the party.
Meanwhile Avenues South East enjoyed a luxurious cream tea in the sublime setting of the The Friars in Aylesford, Kent. People enjoyed the afternoon sun accompanied by a live band.
Avenues South were also making the most of the beautiful sunny afternoon in the beautiful lakeside setting of the Silver Wing Sailing Club in Wraysbury. Party-goers were treated to boat rides across the Lake, making the most of the glorious weather and setting. Those who were brave enough took to the mic for a blast of Karaoke.
The centerpiece of Avenues East celebrations was undoubtably an amazing cake, a number 30 decorated in with icing in Avenues colours. The cake went down a treat as part of afternoon tea and karaoke at Needham Community Centre.
Avenues Chief Executive Officer Jo Land was thrilled to see so many people enjoying parties across the country and praised the effort that had gone into the putting the parties together;
“A huge number of people we support and families joined us, which was really wonderful, and a credit to everyone who played a part in organising these events.”
Avenues would like to say a huge thank you to The Access Group Belron, BPG Events and the Great Fosters 5* Hotel, Egham for their generous donations to support the celebrations!
