Avenues says why families are so important in social care magazine
Wednesday 8th of May 2024Avenues has been talking about how important families are to the organisation in a leading social care magazine. The latest issue of Care Talk magazine (May 2024) features an article on working with families and co-production in the organisation. The magazine aims to promote and celebrate the positives in social care.
The feature centres on the relationships with families of people supported by the organisation and the work of the Family Matters group.
In 2022 Avenues began a period of renewed investment and focus on co-production including the formation of local consultation groups of people we support and the creation of the Family Matters group. The aim was to have both people Avenues supports and families involved in the heart of planning and decision-making across the charity. The article is largely written from the perspective of two family members and also features Co-production Manager Cressida Rapela.
The article appears on page 40 in the May 2024 issue of Care Talk magazine.
