Avenues expands support in Essex with new supported living service in Saffron Walden
Wednesday 12th of August 2026Avenues are delighted to announce that it has been selected by Essex County Council to provide support for three adults with learning disabilities at a supported living service in Saffron Walden, Essex.
The new contract marks another important step in Avenues’ continued growth across the East of England, building on more than 30 years of experience supporting autistic people, people with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other complex support needs to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Located in Saffron Walden, the service will become part of Avenues’ existing network of services across the region, allowing the organisation to share expertise, resources and opportunities while continuing to provide personalised, high-quality support.
The people who live at the service will continue to enjoy the activities and routines that are important to them, including attending local day opportunities and remaining active members of their community. Existing staff will transfer to Avenues and will receive a warm welcome and comprehensive induction, ensuring continuity of care and support for the people who call the service home.
Ahead of the service transferring, Avenues colleagues have already met the people who live there and their families, beginning to build positive relationships and gain an understanding of each person’s goals, interests and aspirations.
