Autism Hampshire launches urgent fundraising appeal
Wednesday 20th of November 2024Our colleagues at Autism Hampshire have launched an urgent fundraising campaign to support our Serendipity Community Groups for autistic adults. Can you help?
These groups provide crucial, safe spaces where individuals can connect, grow, and thrive in a supportive environment. To keep these groups running, we need to raise £50,000 to cover this year’s funding shortfall.
Why this matters
Autistic adults in our communities often face heightened levels of isolation, loneliness, and distress. A recent study revealed that 64% of autistic people struggle to make new friends, leading to feelings of social disconnection.
Without the support of Serendipity Community Groups, many of these individuals could face these challenges alone.
Serendipity Community Groups offer a lifeline to these individuals by creating opportunities for connection, development, and a sense of belonging.
How you can get involved
The appeal is going out to everyone within the Avenues Group family – staff, supporters, and our wider community to ask if you can make a difference, there are several ways you can help make a difference:
- Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, gets us closer to our £50,000 goal. Your donation will directly impact the future of Serendipity Community Groups and the lives of the autistic adults they support.
- Spread the word: Share the campaign link with your networks – family, friends, and colleagues. Help us raise awareness of this important cause, encouraging others to lend their support.
- Fundraise: Consider organising or participating in fundraising activities. Your efforts, big or small, can play a vital role in helping us reach our target.
