Autism Acceptance Week 2025, with Autism Hampshire
Wednesday 26th of March 2025Our team at Autism Hampshire are gearing up for Autism Acceptance Week 2025 , which will run from Monday 31 March to Sunday 6 April.
This year, the campaign focuses on promoting and encouraging genuine acceptance and understanding of being autistic.
We hope it will challenge misconceptions, whilst celebrating neurodiversity in a way that emphasises positive change in local communities. and celebrate neurodiversity within local communities.
Throughout the week, Autism Hampshire will feature the experiences of autistic individuals, offering insights into the diverse experiences of autistic people.
Key events and activities
- Online Myths or Facts Quiz: Kickstarting the week on Monday 31 March, Autism Hampshire will launch an interactive quiz designed to dispel common myths about autism, enhancing public understanding.
- Ask Our Experts Video: On Tuesday 1 April, their expert training team will release a video addressing pressing questions and debunking misconceptions about autism.
- Wear Purple for Autism Acceptance (https://autismhampshire.org.uk/support-us/events/wear-purple-for-autism-acceptance) : For World Autism Awareness Day on Wednesday 2 April, Autism Hampshire is inviting everyone to don purple attire to show support for autism acceptance. Participants are encouraged to make a £1 donation per person (https://avenuesgroup.enthuse.com/cf/wear-purple-for-autism-acceptance)
- Art Auction and Exhibition (https://autismhampshire.org.uk/support-us/events/art-auction-and-exhibition-2025): Thanks to donations from local artists, the team will be hosting an inspiring exhibition and auction on Thursday 3 April from 7pm. Held at Cafe Lamma’z, 155a West Street, Fareham, attendees can bid on pieces via eBay, with all proceeds supporting Autism Hampshire’s initiatives.
