Job Type: Support worker
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £15,880 - £16,200 per annum + benefits
Deadline: Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 12:00 AM

Avenues is a specialist provider of social care, supporting people with complex needs to enjoy life.

We are looking for full and part time Support Workers to join our team at Smock Acre in Hoath to support 3 adult men with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and communication needs. All service users need support with moving and handling, and one uses a peg for ingestion.

There are a further 2 service users supported in outreach; one has learning disabilities and communicates with Makaton, the other has an acquired brain injury.

Our services are shaped around each person, and we work with their families and other professionals to understand what they need. We then support them with everyday activities like taking a shower, making a cup of tea, or trying something new. And it’s also about working with them on bigger decisions, like where they want to live, or who they want to build relationships with.

Due to the needs and location of this role it is essential for the successful applicants to hold a full valid UK driving licence and to have access to their own vehicle.
