Getting started

As soon as you start work with us you will take part in an induction day to get an overview of Avenues, how we do things and what makes us tick. Your induction period will continue over the next three months, led by your manager, and will be a mix of e-learning, on the job learning and workplace assessments.

After your induction is complete, together with your manager you will create a personal development plan to identify goals and areas for development. As well as training that is required of all of us, your development plan could include learning about different approaches and techniques for delivering support or specialist knowledge and awareness, such as autism or acquired brain injury.

You will have regular supervision meetings with your manager to talk and reflect about how things are going as well as regularly reviewing your development plan.

External qualifications

We are an approved City and Guilds centre. We offer the Health and Social Care Diploma up to level 5 as well as the Diploma for Business and Administration at levels 2-3. We can also support employees to study externally for other professional qualifications, whether in health and social care or something business-focused, such as management, finance or HR.
