About us
Things we are going to do in our first year:
Community Futures Kent has only just started. We are going to put lots of information on this website to let you know about the things that we are doing.
We are going to:
-
To employ a community development worker to support people to join in with things in the community
-
To work with local Volunteer Centres to help people be volunteers and to meet new people
-
To have a strong board of trustees that includes people who do lots of different jobs in the community.
-
To offer training to people with learning disabilities and their families to help them to be part of getting people better lives
-
To find out where people can learn skills to help them in their search for jobs
-
To support people to make their own support plans, particularly for people with high support needs
-
To support people with learning disabilities to be part of all the important planning groups that happen in our local communities.
-
To tell other people about Community Futures Kent
-
To work with other people to make the National Health Service better for people with learning disabilities
-
To design and deliver a short training programme to new councillors and young people in schools.
-
To create an easy read book with information about local services
-
Find money to make sure we can do all of these things
