Peter Snelling
Chief Executive
Peter has over 30 years experience of working in the health and social care sector. After qualifying as a nurse, and as a social worker in the early 1980's, he worked in Kent on the long stay hospital closure programme before moving to Scotland to work for Lothian Regional Council and then Scottish Borders Council as a Registration and Inspection officer. Whilst in Edinburgh he gained an MBA and served on a Scottish Office working group developing the new care standards for Scotland.
Peter then worked with a large Scottish housing association as an Operations Director, and then moved to London as Director with Servite, a housing association based in West London before working with Affinity Trust as a National Director. Peter has been with The Avenues Trust since September 2009.
Debbie Smith
Director of Operations
Debbie has over 18 years experience in social care. She has worked in the supported housing departments of two housing associations and in the private and voluntary sectors with leading care and support providers.
In recent years Debbie has specialised in Community Support and Supported Living services and she joined Avenues in 2008 to lead the operational management for Community Support Services.
Debbie is also a member of Housing Options Executive Committee.
