Focus Groups         

Opportunities to help shape the organisation by joining one of its focus groups and project teams.

Training                  

During the first six months staff follow a comprehensive induction programme attending necessary courses.  Staff can also apply to study for NVQs in Care or Promoting Independence where study and assessments take place in the workplace.  Many of the courses within the Avenues training schedule complement this study programme.

Leadership & Management 

It is extremely important to Avenues that we not only train our front-line support staff but that we also train and develop our managers.  We take management and leadership training very seriously and offer a wide range of development programmes to skill our managers with the knowledge and behaviors expected of them.  Some examples of our management programmes include;

  • An Introduction to Management and Leadership
  • Coaching for Performance
  • The Managers Role in Dispute Resolution
  • Managing Attendance
  • Effective Supervision

We also work in partnership with Croft Management to deliver the Chartered Management Institute's Diploma and Certificate in Management programmes as well as giving managers the opportunity to gain external occupational qualifications such as the Certificate in Person Centred Support and the Diploma in Positive Behavior Support in partnership with the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent.
