Peter Snelling

Chief Executive 

Peter comes to the Avenues Trust Group with over 30 years experience of working in the health and social care sector.   After qualifying as a nurse, and as a social worker in the early 1980's, Peter worked for a number of local authorities, including Kent County Council, LB Bexley, City of Edinburgh and Scottish Borders Council.  Much of Peter's career has been in operational management although he did spend two years as a Registration and Inspection Officer.  Whilst in Edinburgh Peter did an MBA and also served on a Scottish Office working group developing the new care standards for Scotland.  

Most recently Peter has worked as Care Director with Servite Housing Association and with Affinity Trust a voluntary organisation working closely with Kent health services in a major re-provisioning program of services for people with a disability.

 

 

Paul Wood

Director of Operations

Paul began working with people with learning disabilities in 1982 in the not-for-profit sector, training as a Social Worker in 1995 until 1998.  Paul also spent a year in Kenya working in a school which taught children with disabilities.  Paul worked as a Social Worker for Surrey County Council in 1998 before joining Avenues in 2000 as a Service Manager.  Since joining Avenues Paul has been a Regional Manager and is now Director of Operations.
