Banking on baking to raise money!

1 September 2011

The bank staff will be selling their own home baked cakes on 6th September when there will be a day of fundraising including the sale of homemade cards and a prize raffle.

The event is being organised through the Barclays Bank Community Scheme and all money raised will help the residents of Spencer Way in Redhill to develop their garden and take part in activities.

Barclays have generously pledged to match the amount raised. The cakes will be made by the staff themselves and the cards will be made by people who live at Spencer Way.Paul Wood, Director of Operations for Avenues Trust Support Services, said: “We’re really pleased that our local bank is helping to support the work we do. The people we support at Spencer Way will benefit from being involved in the fundraising and the money raised will help us to improve their garden and support them to take part in more activities in the community.”
